Richard Wilcox

Richard Wilcox is a rare old cider maker. True Somerset, a gentle, funny and friendly man, when the CiderPunks turned up with a thirst and a gaggle of kids in tow, he parked the kids in a fantastic playground his grandchildren no longer used, and brought the adults into his shed, a wonderful clutter of barrels and stoves and even the old apple press which dates back to 1880.

Richard entertained us for an hour or more, giving us samples of his wide variety of blends, including some that are just "not for sale". (Not to mention his incredible secret-recipe pickled shallots, of which one of the Punks bought the last two jars before anyone else could.)

Eventually he agreed to allow us to sell on our site not only his regular range of farmhouse ciders, but also a "limited edition" of his oak-fermented ciders.
